THE BIRTH

The Birth symbolizes the beginning, when a pure infant enters the world. Here, I explore the myriad ways in which societal expectations, traditions, attitudes, and beliefs are imprinted on the body through the art of tattooing. I delve into captivating tattooing traditions such as Yakuza, Sailors, Maori, USSR camps, Mehndi, and Sicanje tattoos.

Six pieces. Clay, hand molded, casted from plaster forms, glazed, overglaze technique.

INCUBATION

Human growth, development, understanding of environmental rules, learning to live and to be in this world. It is like a person is growing and developing in an egg. Its shell is engraved with the experiences. The stages of human maturity, traumatic experiences and personal development processes are important to me.

Nine various size pieces. Clay, hand molded, engobe / glaze / overglaze expermental technique.

THE BURDEN

The most physically intangible sense that combines the past, present and future. Always invisible but containing almost the greatest weight, it is constantly felt. I show it in the form of a performance where I mold clay directly on my body.

THE SPIRAL

My initial exposure to earth art at Forest Festival, Lithuania. Embracing the meadows through braiding, surrendering to the surroundings while enduring bleeding hands and some sweet back pain. This is my debut earth art sculpture, titled "The SPIRAL."  Choreography & motion skillfuly created and performed by Britta Schönbrunn. Documented by Vytautas Jašauskas.
